My Final Music Promo

This is my Final Music Video
Paramore- Decode

This song tells a story of a couple who used to be in love
and all of a sudden there relationship just vanishes like
it never happened. Sad and realistic.

Final Advertisment

My final advertisement- I would like this to be mostly featured at bus stops and on the side of a phonebox. These places are the most popular and will gain a lot of publicity. The image would also suit being inside a music magazine, such as KERRANG! or NME, as this suits my bands style and genre of music.

My advertisement on a phonebox

Phonebox is good clear way to get information seen by the public, as they walk past and notice an advertisement promoting a band, they will then take an interest and download some of their songs. I like the way this image looks on the phonebox, it is bright with colour and very eye catching, bound to gain publicity.

My advertisement on a bus stop board

The idea of having an advertisement at a but stop is to gain publicity by the people waiting at the stop. While waiting for a bus they will have something to look at and read, and for something as appealing as this i'm sure it will attract a few customers.

Final CD digipak

These image are what my final CD final digipak looks like. I am please with the outcome as the patterns throughot all link in with one aother and work well. I am glad that i have spent time editing the 6 different layers because it looks like more thought and attension to detail has been added, instead on having one plain image on screen with only one effect.

Final CD Digipak in the making

The image above have been created by having a dirty white colour as its original state, then i have added a filter over the top this is called 'crosshatch', i have played around changing the sizings of the squares. I have added various images over the top that feature inside my music video, this is to tell the story to the viewer.

This image again i have added a grey colour background of which links in with my theme colours, i have added a red border of which is on each of the six slides.
I then added an autoshape of a heart, as my theme is a break up love story.
This works quite well along with the added information of the band.

This here is the record label of my Band, i have made it up myself,
this was to make my Cd look professional.

This is a copied image of the lips that feature on my main Cd front cover, i have added them throughout my cd designs so it stays within the theme.

I have added my CD design inside my 6 layers and added it on top of a grey background that has a filter added over the top so it is not flat on the page and looks almost 3D.

This image has been added in between each of my 6 slides, this is because if the digipak was going to be made for real on paper, the red columns are splitters in between the slides.

Cd Cover In The Making.

Here are a few images of what interested me in doing my Cd cover
and how it was done.

This was the first image that i had taken to feature as my front cover, i knew from editing previous how to make it into pop art and from paying around with Photoshop i was able to edit this nicely into the way i wanted it.

I added a feature background that would be seen throughtout my work, this was the damask pattern you can see below or by CLICKING HERE.

How i have edited it: By using the 'Add noise' tool in Photoshop,
By changing the 'Brightness and Contrast' dramatically.

I like the effects i have used but i did not want to go over board and ruin the image as i thought there was enough going on on the the page. It's clear, and very eye catching with the red and pattern colours.

And so with playing around with the lighting and contrast i was able to finish my product. I added a black border around the edge and blurred around the main image just before it met the damask pattern, this is so there is another effect added and it shows more shape to the cover rather than flat on the page.

Editing of Images for front cover 2

Before image

After Image

In the making above, is me using Photoshop, as you can see there is a pattern , i was experimenting with having a patterned background. By lassoing the main image and adding the pattern background it did not look right but i gave it a go.

In the making:
I played around mostly with the colour balance,
brightness and contrast
experimented by adding text (taken out)
experimented by added autoshapes (taken out)
Added a sepia colour as well as adding black and white.

I really like this second image as i do think it looks professional, i just didnt think it would suit my Cd Digipak.

Editing of Images for front cover

Here i have had a go at an image that i was going to use for my CD front cover.
This image was not used but it shows that i have had a go at editing.

Questionnaire Results

OVERALL: Many people wrote that i had a variety of shots that suit the style of my music video and song. some said that the weather of gloomy and rain suited the clips well and set the appropriate mood for what was happening. I am happy to say that most people who left comments on my quesionnaire managed to understand what was going on inside the video and could write down what the music video story was.
The only bad comments that i got was that sometimes the clips weren't steady and a bit shaky, i do agree with this, but mostly my clips are good and steady.
Another bad comment that was noticed was that the mining wasn't always in time, however it is hard to get a clip in time with the music when the music isnt actually playing on the filmed clip. I did try my hardest and looking back nearly all of it was in time, apart from a few clips.
I am happy that i had taken out the Leo's part because my results back would not have been this good, they would not have understood the plot, an i do think they would have got bored with looking at the same person on screen (the singer) all the time.
A good music video needs a variety of shots from different places so the viewer does not get distracted.

Questionnaire - I Handed Out For My Promo

Updated changes of storyboard.

Filming That I Did Not Use

Throughtout the making and preparing for my music video i have had changes throughtout.
some of my film clips did not get used and my ideas totally changed as i was filming.

Originally i was going to do my filming in Leo's Red Lion.
However after filming the footage, i decided to not use Leo's at all.

The images above have been taken from the clips that i did not use.
I decided to take out the Leo's parts, to make room for different
clips but this is an idea of what they would have feature like inside my video.

I Had filmed othe flashbacks to feature in my film, but i was not happy with the outcome and i did not think my film would look good if these were to have been added:

The backgrounds do not suit my video purposes and it just wouldn't look right inside my video.
I am happy to have not encluded them now.

Below is an image taken from a clip i made, at the very end of the video i wanted the picture of the 'Girl and her boyfriend' to be dropped on the floor taped back together.
But again this was meant to be filmed outside Leo's and would not look appropriate, it would look odd compared to the other footage.

Although i do think this was a good clip to add, because
it shows the girls hand dropping the picture, having torn it up in a previous clip.

Music Video In The Making

This is the ending images, it shows you that i have added an'additive dissolve' onto the image, therefore the next image replaces it, but you can see the change, it is just sudden.
I like this effect because it shows more impact to the music video compared to if the images relaced each other without any video transitions.

The image below represents how i have splitted the screen, and added more that one image to the video. When the audience look at the video they will see a split screen, this will keep them interested and not to have to keep looking at the same image on screen as this can be boring.

Also on the image above it shows how you would split a screen too.
You would open up more video strips along the side and copy and paste the clips on top of one another but in the different video strips as shown.

The image above represents a tool that i have used throughout called 'Rough Edges' i have played around with this tool alot and varied the borders thickness for more impact and overall feel to my music video.

The image ABOVE IMAGE represents me using after effects using text. Along with having the rough edges, i do think that this looks like a good choice.

If you click on the image above it shows you the effects that i have used. I wanted this to look old in a sepia style and i really like the over all look. I had to mess around with the settings a lot to get it how i wanted it.

Again here i have used rough edges to give a better impact.
Also having shot it in a different place, the bathroom is another way to take the eye away from one certain image.

Here i have split the screen up, added the lip miming the words along with the singer miming the same words, this is a good look and when looking through the whole video with this effect it looks really well done.

This image above has been put over two videos. They are slightly out of time, so that when the video plays they intersect each other and it sets a sense of lagging. I like the colour effects on here too, the sepia looks like it suits the image. Also i have added 'noise alpha' to give another texture to the piece.

The image of the girl singing represents the amount of hue, saturation and contrast on this image. I have also added a sepia look throughout the singer parts. I really think that the image looks much better with all the effects on it, rather than leaving it to its normal image.

The image above is one of the first images that you see in the music video. I like the way this has been shot, with the bench in the corner and the lighting works brilliantly.

This is my overall timeline you can see the amount of cuts i have done throughout. This was so my video was exactly how i wanted it, with the flashings of different shots.
Also shows where i have cut the song up so that it fits in with my clips.

Locations Of Filming

Mimed in a hall, with a black background-
In my school lecture theatre:

At a park, in misery weather, dull and rainy:
Close up on reactions on a bench & again showing
the lake in the background:

This picture (below) shows the surrouding area of the park,
this sets the mood and the feeling like they are all alone,
but tightly packed together as the image is from a distance.

Flashbacks; these are taken;
. In my back garden
. Inside my bedroom
. Inside a bathroom
. In the park.
